Jumping For Jackfruit

Happy & Healthy

Growing Greens

Hi everybody! How’s your summer?

I’ve been busy planting ALL kinds of Greens & Veggies from seeds. Yay! So exciting. Plus I planted over 100 Black Sapote seeds and can’t wait until they start growing!

Even though I’ve been growing Sprouts, Wheatgrass, Sunflower & Buckwheat Greens for years, I’m still just a beginner at gardening using real dirt. Ha!!

It was easy in Hawaii because I just saved my stems from whatever greens I was eating and plopped them in the ground and they grew 🙂 So this is my first real experience growing veggies from seeds.

Right now I’m growing Kale (2 kinds), Collards, Spinach, Watercress, Dandelion (2 kinds) Arugula, Beets, Corn Salad, Purslane, Basil, Peppers, Stevia, Nettles (naughty nettles & stevia haven’t started growing yet)

I’m also growing trays of Microgreens! They’re a mix of a bunch of different greens & herbs that can be harvested in about 2 weeks.

There’s a MILLION more things I’d like to grow but I figure this is a good start!

Save Money, Eat Better and Be Healthier!

I’ve also been making LOTS of raw vegan Chocolate, tons of Green Juice, growing LOTS of Sprouts, an INSANE amount of Kale Chips (I’m like a Kale Chip factory) am on my 3rd batch of fermented veggie Kim Chee of the summer, and am brewing a BIG batch of Kombucha.

Whoo Hoo! It’s SO fun making all this healthy food! It’s FRESHER and better than what you can buy in the store. Plus you save a TON of money.

Jumping for Jackfruit

This is the Summer of Jackfruit! I’m eating WAY more of this luscious, exceptionally exciting fruit than EVER before.

I’ve had Melon Summers, Cherry Summers and Fig Summers but this is the first featuring so much sweet & juicy tropical orange bliss! I’ve even been freezing it there’s so much, and blending it up into the BEST smoothies ever with Passion Fruit and Bananas.

I’ve also been eating a lot of Nasturtiums (leaves & flowers!) all summer in my Salads and Watercress, which I’m currently obsessed with.

Stay tuned and hopefully I have some beautiful pictures of all my little greens to show you soon!
