Wow! Can you believe it’s almost Summer? Hooray!! We’ve been busy at the Farm, picking lots of purple Mulberries, Early Black Sapotes and just last weekend we got a bunch of giant Blackberries. I have a BUNCH of Cranberries in the freezer, that I froze to use in smoothies.
I have a FABULOUS idea to do a SuperFood Smoothie with a handful each of dark Sweet Cherries & Mulberries and/or a few Blackberries or Raspberries, with a smaller handful of Cranberries & tart Cherries, maybe a banana, blended up in a mix of Pomegranate & Cherry or Blueberry Juice with Apple or maybe Coconut water.
Yum!! What a SUPER spectacular way to get a BUNCH of BERRIES and antioxidants in one drink!
I want to start drinking several a week, but it’s tough with all the yummy fresh fruit available 🙂 to get around to using my frozen fruit. I’m so grateful for an abundance of Berries and fresh Fruit all the time! I have (blush) 3 freezers stuffed with Passionfruit, Black Sapotes and Berries of all kinds. Oh dear! Am I a doomsday Fruit Prepper?? I really better start Blending. Ha!!
In the pictures below, you can see a few Super Salads, the gorgeous Fresh Cranberries that I froze, and my Magnificent raw fermented Kim Chee that I just started making!! I’m SO thrilled to be making it myself. Because it’s really expensive in stores and it’s SO incredibly good for you!! I think I just made my 4th batch. It’s yummy!! I’ll have more pictures to share soon.
As for my Cauliflower Cracker Catastrophe, I optimistically made raw vegan Flaxseed Purple Cauliflower Crackers and Beet Crackers for lunch with a friend of mine, and both crackers turned out horrible. Yuck!! My poor friend. So embarrassing!
I don’t recommend making Purple Cauliflower Crackers unless you have a much better recipe and try it out before you bring it to your friends for lunch!!
Usually my crackers draw a lot of praise 🙂 Although pink & pretty looking, The Purple Cauliflower Crackers were stinky, sulfur-y and bitter and the Beet Crackers had an awful texture and lousy taste too. Yikes!! I’m going to go back to my normal, popular Flax Cracker Recipes for awhile.
