Today I had raspberries & white sapotes for breakfast and juiced for 2 hours straight. Whew!! I made over a GALLON of juice.
Celery, Bok Choy, Tatsoi, Napa Cabbage, Bell Peppers, Carrots, Cucumbers, 1 huge Beet, Swiss Chard & String Beans (organic & fresh picked from the farm!), Gotu Kola, ginger, turmeric, garlic, apples.
It tastes ok….very healthy!
I’ve been juicing a LOT lately, Brian too, which is terrific. But makes such a giant colorful mess in the kitchen! Ha! We juiced Pomegranates, skin and all and yikes…it was so thick & bitter…oh dear!!! Probably healthy though 🙂 ha!!
My Big 4 Superfoods are fresh Veggie Juice & Wheatgrass Juice, Medicinal Mushrooms, Sprouts and Seaweed. Now that I’ve been extra good at eating all the rest, I’ve been totally slacking on juicing wheatgrass :0
I’ve been making outrageous salads lately too, out of Boy Choy, Tatsoi, Napa Cabbage, carrots, onions, tomatoes, fresh basil, oregano, sage, sprouts & avo with tahini dressing. Then I wrap some salad up, burrito style, in a nori sheet drizzled with tahini & sea salt….wow, it’s soooooo delicious!!!
You would think the herbs wouldn’t be good with the nori, but all together, the flavors are amazing. I’ve been eating a LOT of seaweed lately this way. A shocking amount!
And you know the salted ones in the little package at Trader Joes? I love those and they have a lot of other brands at the asian market too. Mmmm….the junk food version of seaweed?? Ha!!!
It’s Guava season, and I can’t get enough Strawberry Guavas. I’m in LOVE with them. Like tropical tasting candy! They can be yellow, red or deep red/purple. They’re small and get soft when ripe. YUM. Once they’re ripe they get smooshy fast, so they’re perishable once picked.
Guavas grow SO well here in S. California. It’s wonderful! Soon we’ll have tons of pink guavas & white ones too. And persimmons! The white sapotes are all ripening and falling on the ground, sweet and creamy as vanilla custard. Oh my! We can’t keep up with them.
Posing with the leafy persimmon below are 3 pretty little palm fruit. They’re from Palm Trees! They fall to the ground and some taste like apricot jam!! These were amazing tasting, but very stringy. Fun to find on the ground!
